The first impression I had of this book is the illustrations were dark and the same throughout.  The book is laid out with the text on the left and the pictures on the right.  The text is large and easy to read for beginners although our library doesn't designate it as a Reader.  The story is cute as are the pictures and it is very simple.  A good book for Storytime.
